The Fort Kent Recreation and Parks Department will strive to enhance the quality of life for Fort Kent citizens by offering a variety of activities that encourage overall wellness, cultural opportunities, natural resource appreciation, and fellowship with neighbors. Our mission is to build upon the natural beauty of our town through the administration, improvement, care, and maintenance of parks, facilities, and public areas.

Facilities Under the jurisdiction of the Recreation and Parks
Riverside Park:
Located off East Main Street on the banks of the St. John River. The Park consists of approximately 7.2 acres. This passive recreation park features a boat landing, bike/walking trail, picnic area, 8 RV camping sites, public restrooms, outdoor basketball court, children's playground, soccer field, open space and gazebo.

Outdoor Swimming Pool
Located off Pleasant Street behind the Fort Kent Community High School on the banks of the Fish River. This facility consists of the main pool having a total of 194,400 gallons of water. A small pool is also featured along with a complete bathhouse
Jalbert Park
Located off Pleasant Street adjacent to the Fort Kent Elementary School on the banks of the Fish River. This facility consists of a multi-purpose building with restrooms, a snack bar, and a meeting area. Also located here are an outdoor ice skating rink with lights, two lighted tennis courts, and a lighted multi-use athletic field. Ice skates and snowshoes are also available for public use.
Little Black Lake
Located at the end of South Perley Brook Road this area consists of a public picnic area, fire pit, and boat landing.
Recreation Programs
The most important product of the department is the variety, scope, and quality of recreation programs for all ages.
Spring
Tennis clinics, little league baseball, indoor soccer league, and a variety of enrichment programs are made available.
Summer
The traditional summer program with swimming lessons, baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, and tennis team and lessons, arts and crafts, social recreation, nature studies, special events, and field trips are offered.
Fall
We offer youth soccer leagues and clinics, holiday arts and crafts workshops along with one-time special events.
Winter
Youth basketball leagues, ice hockey leagues, public ice-skating, holiday arts and crafts workshops, and special events are offered throughout the winter season.
